Dance Collective Years 10-12 Performing 'Thriller'

Performing Arts is the centre of the cultural life of our school. Our program is one of the original Performing Arts programs in the state and we have a rich history of performance and achievement.
As well as studying the more traditional subjects, the school curriculum allows students to study Dance, Drama, Music, Media and Visual Arts to high performance and intellectual levels.  The Performing Arts provide challenging and effective specialist and artistic education programs and preparation for exciting careers in the arts and associated industries. We have an active excursion program, modest fees and can provide outstanding opportunities for our students. We pride ourselves on innovation, professionalism, teamwork and creativity.

Courses offered include Drama, Dance (contemporary, hip hop, jazz, tap, and theatrical), Instrumental and Vocal Music, Rock Music, Film and Television, Media (documentary and feature film making), Sculpture, Printmaking and Painting. Music students are well supported with a Vocal Tutor Program and a Band Program where we provide small group specialist tuition on a regular weekly basis both during and after school. There are a number of ensembles that provide alternative opportunities for students wishing further extension activities. These include dance ensembles, drama productions, rock groups and jazz ensembles.
Teachers are always seeking to increase the opportunities available to students both in and outside the classroom.

Many of our former students have made careers in the Arts, both on-stage and backstage.  Our range of facilities and technical resources allow us to train effectively for work in the Arts industry.
Students are regularly selected for performances in public arenas, talent development projects, Regional and State Dance, Music and Drama Festivals.
We also have a busy in-house calendar of events which allows all auditioned students to perform in public at least twice a year.
Entry to Instrumental Music is by audition and recommendation. All other courses are open to students.
