Students in the Leeming Senior High School Languages Department learn to communicate effectively in another language, and develop practical skills to assist in future social, cultural, and vocational pursuits.
The Language Department at Leeming Senior High School utilises a range of learning technologies to enhance understanding of other cultures, and to expose students to authentic material in their chosen language.
In Year 7, students choose from French or Japanese. In Years 8 and 9, students continue studying the same language they commenced in Year 7. At the end of Year 10 students can then choose whether to continue their language studies into Senior School. Japanese and French are both offered as ATAR and General Pathway subjects in Years 11 and 12.
