Enrolling
and Inducting New Students
The following procedure has been designed to make
the induction of new students to Leeming Senior High School as smooth
and as comfortable as possible.
1. Parents of the student to be enrolled will be issued
with a package which contains an information booklet, a school calendar,
copy
of most recent 'School
News', enrolment forms and checklist of information to be provided to school. Courses offered click here
2. Parents of new students will complete all documentation and make available
copies of previous reports and other information which facilitate course
selection and class placement.
3. Parents and prospective students will attend an interview
with the a deputy principal, for checking of the enrolment form
and selection
of appropriate subjects. Parents and
students may also need to attend an interview with the principal.
4. Students must be in uniform to commence school.
Uniforms may be purchased from the school's Uniform Shop, for
more infomation click
here.
5. New students are met by the School Chaplain
on the first day of school and are given an orientation that
familiarises the student with the layout of class rooms and other
facilities of the school. Students also receive their timetable
and a map of the school.
6. The School Chaplain introduces
the student to the School Psychologist, the
School Nurse, the Year Co-ordinators and
the Librarian. These introductions are managed on a fairly informal
basis.
7. At the end of the orientation the student is
introduced to their first class. The school Chaplain will also
identify a couple of "buddies" who will look after the new student
for the first week or so.
We have an transition program running for years
seven to eight, for more information click
