making
The School Decision-Making Group enables participation in the
formulation of the school's educational objectives and priorities.
Any parent, interested student or teacher is welcome to attend
meetings of the P & C, committees or the School Council.
School Policy Council
The School Policy Council consists of equal numbers of parents and
staff representatives and the principal. Students may also have
elected representation.
Committees
Student Council
Student opinion is valued. Student Councillors, including the Head
Boy and Head Girl, provide a liaison between staff and students.
Students from Years 9 to 12 are eligible to be Student Councillors
and their peers elect them to the positions. Through the Student
Council students are encouraged to explore their leadership
potential
and develop their leadership abilities.
Parents and Citizens’ Association
The Parents and Citizens' Association is established to promote
the interests of the school by bringing about closer co-operation
between parents, teachers, students and the wider community.
Its main objective is to assist the school to nurture the educational,
moral, physical and social welfare of the students by active
co-operation with the Education Department, the school and the
community.
Any parent may join the P&C on payment of an annual fee of
$1.00 and may thereby vote or stand in elections of office bearers.
Meetings of the P&C Association are held twice a term in the
staff room.
The Parents and Citizens’ Association and the School Council
provide formal opportunities for parent participation. Other opportunities
for parent involvement include Open Door days, telephone contacts
and meetings with teachers, parent meetings, attending assemblies,
volunteering and participating in other support groups.
