We Care
At Leeming Senior High School every endeavour is
made to treat students as individuals, each with different needs,
interests, abilities and aptitudes. The school is concerned about
the total welfare of every person in the school.
All members of the school community will:
- Be
treated with respect, dignity and consideration
- Work
and learn without interference
- Work
in a quiet, orderly and safe environment
- Be
encouraged to take pride in their school
The school takes these rights seriously and requires
students to exercise their responsibilities to ensure the rights
are upheld. Firm and consistent application of these principles
form the basis of our discipline policy and procedures.
We encourage positive contributions from each student. To help students
and teachers to work in a caring environment structures have been
developed and implemented which assist and reinforce the measures
taken for the care of all within the school.
We value and are
committed to fairness and personal responsibility.
Our
Ethos
Our school believes that every person is intrinsically
worthwhile, is capable of achieving excellence and has the responsibility
to contribute positively to the school community. It upholds the
rights of individuals. Fairness is the cornerstone of our ethos.
It will be reflected in interactions between people, characterised
by honesty and mutual respect. Our teachers will be people of personal
integrity and open-mindedness. Our students will be tolerant of
individual differences between people. All school members will have
the opportunity to fulfil their potential in a friendly, physically
safe and emotionally secure environment that is oriented towards
academic excellence.
We invite you to come and see us working. When you
enter our school you will be genuinely impressed and we will be
happy to show you around. Please contact us for more information
and be part of our community.
