What an astonishing celebration of Science we had last week at Leeming Senior High School Science Fair!
The Science and Technology Academy (STA) Students, with the enduring and enthusiastic support of the program’s coordinator, Dr. Esther Janes, and all of our Science teachers and lab assistants, put together a Science Fair that was very much enjoyed by everyone. The students from Leeming Senior High School and the Leeming Senior High School Education Support Centre visited the fair and learned from all the displays our students had prepared. We also welcomed a group of Year 5 & Year 6 students from Leeming Primary School and West Leeming Primary School. The students from our local visiting schools were fascinated by Dr. Janes’ Science Show and we hope they learned something new and grew a new passion for Science.
The school’s Science Fair was inspired by this year’s Science Week theme of Game Changers & Change Makers and investigated the applications of virtual reality in the medical and mining fields, nanothechnology, 3D printing and artificial intelligence technology. The STA students developed all the displays with what they learned in class. We are very proud to see we have true Change Makers among our students!
