Leeming Senior High School runs an ATAR Aviation Program in Year 11 and Year 12 and offers extensive opportunities through the Lower School years to learn about studies in Aviation.

The curriculum includes areas of study such as Aerodynamics, Air Traffic Control an Safety, Navigation Equipment, Calculations for take-off and landing, Air Law, History of Aviation, Meteorology and Aviation Weather Codes, as well as hands on experience in one of the two flight simulators in school. There is also an option for the students to get flying experience at Jandakot Airport if they are interested. This is done at the student’s own expense at a special LSHS student’s rate. Students who have taken up this opportunity agree that it is worth every second of it!

ATAR Aviation at Leeming Senior HIgh School is run by Mr. Kalai Sabapathy, a recreational pilot and former Air Traffic Controler. Mr. Sabapathy brings 20 years of experience in the world of aviation to the class in an application-based course that students love.

The world of Aviation offers a wide range of career options. It is not just for Aeroplane Pilots! Helicopters, Drones, Airport Work, Air Traffic Controler, Aircraft Enginneer among many others.
